Privacy notice

MYKD is the trading name of Michael Dunn, a sole trader based in Essex, England. Michael Dunn is the controller of the personal information described here.

• Brand System Pulse. Your name, organisation, work email address and, if you give it, your role. Your twelve answers and the reading calculated from them. Which consent boxes you ticked, with the wording shown at the time. Any campaign tag in the link you followed, such as the name of a LinkedIn post.
• When you get in touch. Your contact details and whatever you include in an email, call or message.
• Website analytics, only if you accept cookies. Pages viewed, clicks on the Pulse and contact links, your type of device and browser, an approximate location based on your IP address, and how you arrived at the site.
• Server logs. The hosting provider records IP addresses, browser details and the pages requested, to keep both sites secure and running.

• To show your Pulse reading and email you a copy.Your consent, given with the first box on the Pulse form.
• To follow up personally about your reading, with no more than two short emails. Reply to either one to stop them.Legitimate interests, in offering a conversation about the reading you asked for.
• To send occasional writing on brand systems and creative operations, monthly at most, with an unsubscribe link in every email.Your consent, given with the second box on the Pulse form, which is optional.
• To report how firms compare, using scores that are anonymised and combined so that no person or organisation can be identified.Legitimate interests.
• To reply to enquiries and to run client work.Legitimate interests, or taking steps towards a contract at your request.
• To understand how the site is used.Your consent, given through the cookie choice.
• To keep tax and accounting records for clients.Legal obligation.

Personal information is never sold. The Pulse reading is calculated automatically from your answers, but it has no legal or similarly significant effect on you.

These providers process personal information on MYKD’s behalf, under contract and only for the purposes above.

• 123 Reg, part of GoDaddy. Web hosting for mykd.co.uk and pulse.mykd.co.uk, including the Pulse submissions stored on the server.
• Brevo. Sends the Pulse reading and follow-up emails, and holds the mailing lists.
• Google. Google Analytics, only if you accept cookies.
• Apple. iCloud Mail, which runs the michael@mykd.co.uk mailbox.

Information may also be disclosed where the law requires it.

Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the European Economic Area and the United States. These transfers rely on UK adequacy regulations, which cover the European Economic Area and US organisations certified under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses.

• Pulse submissions and enquiries. 24 months from your last contact, then deleted. Reviewed once a year.
• Mailing list. Until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent. After that, your email address stays on a suppression list so you are not emailed again.
• Client and billing records. Six years after the end of the tax year they relate to.
• Analytics. No more than 14 months in Google Analytics.

• mykd_consent. Remembers your cookie choice across mykd.co.uk and its subdomains for 180 days. It is strictly necessary, so it is set without asking.
• _ga, and _ga followed by an ID. Google Analytics. Set only if you accept, and kept for up to two years.

The Brand System Pulse keeps your cookie choice in your browser’s local storage, under the name mykd-consent.

Change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the foot of this page. Declining removes the Google Analytics cookies.

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal information held about you, to correct it or to delete it. You can ask to restrict how it is used, object to any use based on legitimate interests, and receive a copy in a portable format. Where the basis is consent, you can withdraw it at any time. That does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
